Corporate Responsibility

Main Menu - Level 2

Caring for the environment is one of TFKable's priorities, which is reflected in our environmental policy. Our aim is to minimise the amount of waste and manage it responsibly, supporting the idea of a circular economy.

We implement modern technologies and innovative solutions that ensure production that is safe for people and the environment. All our activities comply with the environmental management system, certified according to ISO 14001:2015.

This policy defines the principles and activities aimed at:

  • preventing pollutant emissions;
  • controlling and reducing greenhouse gas emissions;
  • achieving the ambitious goal of climate neutrality by 2050.

Within the framework of the Environmental Policy, we also focus on:

  • the efficient use of natural resources;
  • optimising raw material consumption;
  • managing energy media and improving energy efficiency.

TFKable's Sustainability Strategy

In 2023, we developed a Sustainability Strategy that integrates our approach to environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues. Our aim is not only to achieve stable growth and sustainable market advantage, but also to develop in a sustainable and responsible manner towards the environment.

This is based on three pillars:

  • Environment: reducing greenhouse gas emissions and implementing solutions that support climate protection.
  • Social responsibility: respect for human rights, gender equality and diversity.
  • Corporate Governance: adherence to the highest ethical standards, including anti-corruption regulations.

TFKable Climate Strategy

The Climate Strategy, also developed in 2023, sets out our ambitions and commitments to combat climate change and adapt to its effects.

The document analyses climate risks in:

  • the short and medium term (2023-2030).
  • long-term (2031-2050), according to the RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 scenarios.

We have identified 32 climate-related risks and 10 opportunities, the most significant of which include growing demand for our products and opportunities for their development.

Key risks include rising energy costs, regulatory requirements, climate-related infrastructure destruction and supply chain disruptions.

We have divided our actions into two phases:

  • 2023-2030: Continuation of mitigation and adaptation actions.
  • 2030+: Implementation of measures based on the results of climate scenarios.

Responsible Waste Management

Quality and minimising environmental impact

At the Cable Recycling Plant in Bukowno, we ensure high product quality, but we also consider the impact of our activities on the natural environment. That is why we use ecological technologies, including the recycling of production waste, which supports a circular economy. Waste from the production process is used as a secondary raw material, reducing the need for new materials and minimising waste.

The recycling plant in Bukowno recovers not only cable waste, but also used cables and cables from dismantling. Special mechanical processes recover ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as plastics and rubber regranulate.

The plant has the capacity to process approximately 10,000 tonnes of cable waste per year, with a purity of the recovered metal fractions of over 99.5%.

In the interest of proper, efficient and environmentally sound cable waste management, we provide recommended procedures for handling end-of-life waste.

Commitment to International Initiatives

TFKable is included in leading international sustainability indexes, which are an important tool for investors making decisions based on a company's ESG impact. These ratings assess the extent to which a company takes social and environmental factors into account, in addition to economic performance. These indices enable us to focus our efforts on continuous improvement and the achievement of our goals.

At the beginning of 2024, TFKable joined two initiatives: STBi (Sustainable Technology and Business Initiative) and the UN Global Compact. STBi helps companies implement sustainable technologies and business practices. The UN Global Compact encourages companies to adopt responsible policies in areas such as human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.
